Welcome to the Writing Center!

The Writing Center is for all AASU students. You can come in with any type of writing assignment at any stage of the process. We can help you understand the assignment and plan your paper, and we can help you organize and revise your paper. We can even help you learn to proofread for your most common mistakes.

  • Step 1: Make an appointment by calling us at 912-927-5210, emailing us at writectr@mail.armstrong.edu, or stopping by in person. Appointments are made for 30 minute sessions. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you come in without an appointment, we can't guarantee that a tutor will be available. Please arrive on time. If you are more than five minutes late, your appointment may be given to a walk-in.
  • Step 2: When you arrive for your appointment, sign-in at the front desk. The first time you visit, you will be asked to fill out an information form. This form helps us keep track of your sessions and gives the tutors an idea of how to help you improve your writing.
  • Step 3: When you meet with a tutor, bring your assignment and any related materials. Explain to the tutor exactly what you want to work on during the session. You and the tutor will work together on the problems.
  • Step 4: After the session, fill out a tutor evaluation form and turn it in. Your honest evaluation helps us improve our services.
  • Step 5: You may want to stop at the front desk and make a follow-up appointment.
The Writing Center is open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday. Our hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am-7pm; Friday-Saturday 9am-12noon.
